Independent writer/director Jesse Cowell Saturday hosted the first screening of his completed Drawn by Pain project at Tribeca Cinemas. The movie was developed as a twelve-part web series.

LonelyGirl15 creators Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried launched their new series LG15: The Resistance earlier this month at NYTVF’s Digital Day.

Union Square Ventures’ Fred Wilson gave a little history lesson on New York’s web/tech startup scene, including a plea to once and for all bury the Silicon Alley moniker.

Jordan Goldman just launched his new startup Unigo. The 26-year old founder previously created the Students’ Guide to Colleges series.

Unigo has been a year in the making. 18 full-time editors, 300 interns and more than 15,000 students contributed content to the angel-funded college resource.
