Video 2.0 at Webster Hall
Bogus ‘user generated company’ Slikstr was a big hit again last night at the always excellent Video 2.0 meetup.
Some even believed the company was real. ‘We’ve created a lot of confusion,’ Neovids-founder Matt Feldman said.
The company behind Slikstr also produces more serious video work, most notably HolyLandTV. Matt Feldman presented Neovids and Slikstr earlier this month at Web2NewYork.
SeeToo is a cute video sharing service, but it’s hard to see how it could survive as a stand-alone company. Co-founder Yoav Ilan promised more announcements and partnerships in the coming weeks.
CBS Interactive showed an offensive fake news clip from MobLogic called Tibetan Terrorists that seemed to make the point that Al Qaeda are really just like misunderstood peaceloving Buddhists.
MobLogic is a good example of CBS’ distributed video strategy. Video 2.0 organizer Yaron Samid wanted to know from presenter Scott Solary ‘what’s in Les Moonves‘ head’.
Solary admitted not knowing Moonves that well. ‘But if you hear him speak, he gets it,’ Solary said. ‘He leaves the production to the producers.’
