More web events at For Your Imagination
For Your Imagination’s studio space a few blocks from the Flatiron building is turning into the center of New York’s web 2.0 universe. At least three web events were held at the web video production company’s office this week. I’ve missed last weekend’s One Web Day party and perhaps others.
Tuesday FYI hosted Matt Semel’s second BigScreen LittleScreen meetup, showcasing the creative side of web video. It was excellent again. For me the highlight was the Hipster Olympics from Brooklyn-based comedy team POYKPAC. The good news is the video wasn’t a one-off, so keep an eye on them.
Aaron Bollinger presented his new sports satire project Flash Sports Tonight. It was very well produced, but as a sports illiterate I couldn’t tell whether it was actually funny or not. When Aaron presented at Web2NewYork last week he never mentioned Flash Sports Tonight.
Thursday Revlayer-founder Allen Stern held his first CenterNetworks Mixer at FYI. It was a succes. Hakia and Outbrain presented. I had been curious about Hakia, but their mission to provide better search than the Googles and Yahoos seems rather quixotic. Asked if they hoped to be acquired by the big players they had ‘no comment’.
