For Your Imagination redefining web video

Posted by Peter on August 30 under Media, Vlog, nextNY

For Your Imagination, probably the coolest company in New York, produces original web shows like The Patrice O’Neal Show - Coming Soon! and The Shirtless Apprentice. But their real pioneering role may be in figuring out the economics of web video for content producers.

Tonight For Your Imagination is hosting the monthly Video 2.0 meetup.

Last week I had the opportunity to speak with Paul Kontonis, founder and CEO of For Your Imagination. Paul won’t be at the meetup tonight. He is in Los Angeles, ‘doing the entertainment industry power meeting circuit’. FYI is looking for a first round of funding this Fall.

At one point in the video Paul mentions Gino. That’s Gino Tomac, a former writer for MTV programs Web Junk 2.0 and I Love The 80’s who brought comic Patrice O’Neal into For Your Imagination.

Behind Paul the Shirtless Apprentice is preparing for a shoot.

More from this interview will appear in the October issue of Dutch magazine Emerce.
