Cruxy still looked a lot like another YouTube clone when I interviewed founders Jon Oakes and Nathan Freitas last Fall for Dutch magazine Emerce. Since then the Brooklyn-based startup has sharpened its focus as a media marketplace for independent content creators.

One of Brightcove’s most public faces, besides Jeremy Allaire, has left the internet TV company. Ad industry veteran Adam Gerber was in charge of Brightcove’s advertising strategy and products.
